An overall evaluation of the existing structures and a comprehensive consideration of all measures regarding statics or building material are prerequisites for redevelopment and monument preservation. Hence, not only the knowledge of chemical and physical properties of historic building materials is essential, but also experience with constructions that are hundreds of years old.
